Moltas, I started reading this thread today and after completing it I checked the link you posted. Thank you. I now have the new beta version of GoogleEarth installed and running. My only problem was when I downloaded it, I downloaded it to my download folder which is on my sata drive separate from my os. After realizing what I was doing I moved it to /home/bin and everything worked well. The only part I skipped was the rebuild of the kernal. Didn't think it would be necessary and honestly, I don't know how and it scares the hell out of me to think about doing it. Anyway, it all works and just wanted to say thanks.
