Afther the d-u today, I get a crash/error with Openoffice.org calc when I selet Format>cells. I've tried reinstalling and going back to 2.0.2.99 but still get the crash/error. Is this a bug unique to me or are others having the same problem?

it seems to be an unique bug. I just tried the same action with my OO version and it behaves at it should. Well, I have to mention that I am using openoffice.org-core 2.0.3-1 , Wed Jun 28th in German language. maybe someone else could try to confirm this bug in the English version.

good luck and keep on tuxing

cheers, Dirk

The problem appears to be associated with Borders. I can click on the Border icon on the format toolbar to put in the default border (a thin line border); I can change, say, all aspects of the default set up except when I click on the Borders tab I get the crash. Strange. Any ideas on how to remove "everything" to start again. --purge doesn't appear to be sufficient.

ps I've managed to replicate the crash in Writer - after drawing a table and trying to modify the borders!

drb,

I confirm the crash applying the same procedure. But no data loss, the crash routine is very civilized Mr. Green

To get rid of your own configs, try:
mv ~/.openoffice.org2 ~/.openoffice.org2.backup

But I doubt, it helps. I'm waiting for an OOo that understands Freetype 2.2 anyway.

drb,

confirm the crash from my HP now as well, so it must be a bug. Cannot create borders at all (same as on my desktop), so it leaves calc more or less unusable for creative work.

Well ...

Maybe you should report it to the Debian maintainers. I looked and that bug has not been filed.

If you don't know how to report a bug use reportbug. It is in the repos and will walk you through the process.

Whenever there are Bugs in the Debian/Unstable OpenOffice, I use the following repository with good success:

http://ftp.linux.cz/pub/localization/OpenOffice.org/devel/680/

I reproduced the bug you mentioned and then updated to the following developer's build that runs perfectly without the calc cell border bug:

http://ftp.linux.cz/pub/localization/OpenOffice.org/devel/680/OOC680_m7/Build-1/

Good luck!

I followed your detailed description and can confirm the same bug now. It seems to appear in the border tab of the format cells dialogue only.
Until this bug will be fixed you should only use the border icons to change order behaviour.

cheers, Dirk

@jackiebrown:
The bugreport is filed under #376316.

Additional info:
The borders can be set by using the toolbar button. No probs here doing it this way.
