Installation - nvidia driver did not install

Hi i just updated to the new 2.6.17.11-slh-up-1 kernel after installing easter rc4
and i can not get the nvidia driver to work
my cpu is a 3800+ 64x2
video card is a fx5200

1) unpack
2)sux
3) ./install-kernel-kanotix.sh
4) dpkg -i *.deb
5)reboot
6)update-modules
7) start modem dialup (do not know how to in termial)
8)apt-get update
9)update-scripts-kanotix.sh
10)ctrl-alt-f3
11) install-nvidia-debian.sh

I get an error saying

(WW) Warning, couldn't open module nvidia
(II) UnloadModule: "nvidia"
(EE) Failed to load module "nvidia" (module does not exist, 0)
(II) LoadModule: "kbd"



i finished this on the 1 september
just tried
A) ctrl-alt-F1
B) init 3
C) install-nvidia-debian.sh

still not working

apt-get install gcc-4.1 should do the trick, its needed for 2.6 17 kernel.

does that mean i need to reinstall the kernel
I have just noticed that I only get one tux when booting when before i got 2

2.6.17.11-kanotix-2 has dual core support.

you always need kanotix-kernel or slh-smp kernel for dual-core
make sure, you have gcc-4.1, otherwise no go with nvidia.
