          | When I installed winxp/Kanotix on my computer I never bothered to install the software for my graphics card. I used to play games a while back but dont have time for that anymore. I still have the same card, which is some off-the-wall brand. It is a "Mad Dog" 64MB graphics adapter. So it functions now as a regular display adapter. I tried to install a linux program called "3ddesk". It complained my graphics acceleration was not configured. I am sure the card I have may not be compatible with Kanotix as far as drivers or whatnot. The card is about 4 or 5 years old. I do have an extra voodoo III that i could swap if needed. But that card is just as old if not older. My question is, can I somehow configure the card I have for 3d effects (open GL inWindows) in Kanotix? I can always buy a newer card if I have to. But The only reason I bought the card in the first place was to play Quake! And that was back in 2000 or 2001. w1av |

          | Thank you Schnorrer, I will try that tonight when I get home. I am not sure I understand the rest of it though. I see that I type in "lspci" at Konsole. Then I should get results next on screen. I just dont understand this part:
result is vga comptiledevive:vendor type memory andand

So what is next step for configuring the card once I do "lspci"? I will post the results of "lspci" here tonite then go to the next step...thanks......w1av

          | Do you have libgl1-mesa-dri installed? It contains a DRI driver for SIS graphics cards. |
