          | G'day How can I get my new usb2 extrernal hdd to work on my comp?
I've enclosed my unused ide hdd into an usb2 external enclosure (Ritmo Aluminium enclosure for usb/sata hdd) , thinking that it'd show up on the desktop once I plug it in but naturall it didn't work that way...

Are there anything else could be done to get this workin?.

 cheers

          | I do frequent du's so my system is as current as it can get and
 Code:
fdisk -l
doesn't show the external usb enclosure.
I presumed this would work like the usb sticks, plug it in, it'll show up on your desktop!!

 Code:
$nito# apt-cache policy hal
 hal:
 Installed: 0.5.8.1-3
