| Is it possible to copy/paste output in an init 3 dist-upgrade session? Or can I use a | less pipe or something like that? I don't want to screw up an upgrade in progress to view what's happening, but I'd like to be able to view messages that fly by. Thanks, Kurt. |

kurt,
you have the apt-bug, that comes with new version of apt.
just put an empty line at the end of /etc/apt/preferences and save it.
now apt works again
