| I had to reinstall kanotix easter edition on my old as compaq 1685 laptop. Earlyer versions worked awsome but this one wont hibernate or suspend, getting the error that acpi isnt compiled into the kernel. Im also getting errors when starting the battery monitor it says that acpi is only partially configured. Anyway to fix it? |

Early versions means pre 2005-4?
I did remember it was worked on my compaq with early 2005 versions but not doin' well in 2005-4. so sorry, i have no idea how to fix it |

I tried 2.6.17-slh-up-1 acpi workes great but madwifi is broken, now Im stuck 
any ideas |

| Did you install by the kanotix update gui? It offers the option of including madwifi drivers (module). |

| kanotix-update-gui worked with installing everything needed, but I relized as much as I though acpi was working it wasnt all thats working is the power buton and it detecting if its plugged in. Really anoying since this is such an old lapptop it gets no battery life. |
