          | Please forgive my ignorance. Kanotix shows notification "You should update your system" but with no other choice of action to follow than the button <<Later>>.
 How to update the system then?
 Thanks!

          | Thank you. I do not understand german, I tried apt-get update and I have the message:
 -------------------------------------------
 W: Failed to fetch http://mozilla.debian.net/dists/squeeze ... ts/Release Unable to find expected entry iceweasel-4.0/binary-amd64/Packages in Meta-index file (malformed Release file?)
 E: Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead.
 -------------------------------
 What should I do?

          | dist-upgrade in terminal as root with su
 Code:
 apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade && apt-get clean
 perhaps you haven't the correct sources.lst
 see !iceweasel in the IRC what the help-bot say.
 Or you may ask the folks in the IRC there (English is no problem)

          | IIRC the iceweasel source list entry of last ISO is unfortunately inside of /etc/apt/sources.list instead of a separate source list entry as /etc/apt/sources.list.d/iceweasel.list. That's why you should update the general sources.list file as well. See !hellfire point 1 in IRC too. |

          | Daddy-G hat folgendes geschrieben::
dist-upgrade in terminal as root with su
 Code:
 apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade && apt-get clean

perhaps you haven't the correct sources.lst

see!iceweasel in the IRC what the help-bot say.

Or you may ask the folks in the IRC there (English is no problem)
 Should I run all the command  ""  apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade && apt-get clean  ""  as a whole or separately:
 first: apt-get update
 then: apt-get dist-upgrade
 and finally: apt-get clean    ?

 What is IRC here? How to enter it?

 Thanks!

          | You can run the commands in one line with && or in single commands, just as you want.
 Entering the IRC #kanotix channel is quite simple here:
 See this:
 http://kanotix.com/index.php?module=pnW ... %3A28%3A33

 Don't forget to change the standard nick "web-Kanotix123" in your real nick or other

 You can ask the people in the chat for help.
 There are allways some guys to answer in English, often Kano himself.

 The exclamation mark ( ! ) means to run a command for the help-tool bot in the IRC there.
